Born and raised in Louisiana, Susan has over twenty-Two years of combined criminal and civil litigation experience. She has worked as a State criminal prosecutor, Private criminal defense attorney, Public defender, and family lawyer: representing clients at the trial level as well as on Direct Appeal in the states of Louisiana and North Carolina.
Susan has extensive experience Handling criminal matters ranging in severity from misdemeanors to complex violent offenses, including armed robberies, homicides, and capital murder.
In 2003, Susan graduated from Loyola University New Orleans, School of Law. Susan earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Southern Methodist University. She went on to study professional counseling at the Master's level.
While in law school, She began her courtroom training through the Loyola Law Clinic where She represented clients charged with felony criminal Offenses in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court. There, She obtained a not guilty verdict in Her first jury trial.
Susan's comprehensive litigation and appellate experience allows her to consider many different legal strategies while navigating the legal system. Her degree in Psychology and graduate-level training allow her to recognize and understand various psychosocial and social issues that arise within the context of criminal legal representation.
Susan recognizes how these issues can play an integral part in the lives of her clients, their families, and most importantly, their legal representation.
